Hashbrown Cassarole

One of my favorite comfort foods...

1 lb frozen hash browns
1 stick butter
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup onion, peeled and chopped
1 8oz package shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
